A few weeks before our MCE/SPM 1978 examination, the Raja of Perlis officiated SMSPerlis and changed it's name to the current name (which I couldn't even typed-in!). Do you remember the chorus of our school song? If you don't, let me refresh it for you - "Maju SMSPerlis, Harum SMSPerlis, Selama-lamanya". With the new (current) name, this phrase is awkward to sing. Luckily, when our MCE/SPM 1978 examination certificates were issued, they bore the name SMSPerlis. For those who didn't realise this, start searching for that certificate and check out the name of your school. I believe that we are the last batch (bear in mind that we were ONLY the second batch of SMSPerlis) to own MCE/SPM certificates with the name SMSPerlis on them! With this trivial fact, I am happy when Hasanuddin Sabran named our blog Sek Men Sains Perlis.

Bukan nak discredit SMSTSPs tapi tu lah hakikatnya. We were brought up since day 1 at SMS, alas during the last days there they changed the school name. Sbb tu after these years I think, most of us tak ada feeling dgn our school. SMSPerlis dah pupus! Hopefully this blog will rekindle our memories of growing up together there way back in the 70s.
